What Renewal 🌱 Looks Like in Real Life

01.01.26 | THIS ON THURSDAY | #34

Hi friend,

First off, you're not imagining things if you've resisted New Year’s resolutions, but set them anyway. You know, the big promises and dramatic changes that are going to change your body, mind, and spirit. Here's the thing: Regardless of every January heralding a new year, most of us don’t need a harder push in January.

It's cold, maybe snowy, and we're just a bit worn out from November and December.

That’s why I’ve been thinking about Renewal, Not Resolutions.

Renewal works differently. It doesn’t ask you to reinvent yourself or map out the entire year. It starts with small recalibrations. Adjustments that help life feel better right now, not someday.

In Part 2 of Renewal, Not Resolutions, I share four practical ways renewal tends to work almost immediately: Wellness, connection, curiosity, and environment. It's not a checklist. It's not a self-improvement program. They're just realistic places to begin.

What I like most about this approach is how doable it is. You don’t need momentum. You don’t need motivation. You don’t even need January energy. You just need one thoughtful starting point.

Here’s a small example from the post:

✨ TRY THIS FIRST . . .

Restore before you improve.

Before adding new habits, goals, or routines, focus on one basic rhythm that supports everything else. It could be sleep, meals, movement, or even daily check-ins or pauses.

Choose the one that feels most out-of-sync right now and intentionally redirect it for a week.

No tracking.
No pressure.
Just support.
