Hi Reader
I've realized something that really surprises me.
I've stopped reading. Don't get me wrong; I actually read and write pretty much all day long. But reading for pleasure, this had dropped off.
Somehow, this happened not all at once, not by decision. Gradually. The evenings that used to hold a book started holding a TV remote instead. And somewhere along the way the stack on my nightstand stopped shrinking and started taunting me.
I still wanted to read. That’s the part that got me. I thought about the books I meant to get to, and yet I couldn’t seem to begin. Getting back to reading had turned into its own project in my head.
It required the right book, the right mood, the right uninterrupted stretch. The version of reading I’d built in my imagination needed conditions I never quite had.
I know you've got your abandoned thing. Maybe it's the morning walk, taking your dog to the dog park, grilling on the weekends.
This week on the blog I've got a couple of tricks to help you push through the barriers of all your unbegun things. I promise you, these really work! Get back to doing what you love.
📚 How To Get Started: The Trick To Unbegun Things
I'd love to hear about your unbegun things! I read every response.
Here's to beginning all your unbegun things . . .
🩷 Create a life you love.
📚 P.S. — I’m reading again. Three books so far this summer. The stack on the nightstand is finally shrinking.
