🌱 The 4 Types of Personal Growth and How To Get Started

THIS ON THURSDAY

Hi friends,

I’ve been thinking a lot about Growth 🪴 lately.

Not the dramatic, “I’m going to reinvent my entire life by Monday” kind of growth.

More like the kind that sneaks up on you . . . when you realize you’re tired of living on autopilot, when you want your days to feel better. More aligned. More you 🌻.

And here’s something I’ve noticed (in myself and in so many women I talk to):

We often want Growth, but we don't know what kind. We don't want more stuff, more draining activities, or even more time. We just need a nudge to point us in the right direction.

So we do what most of us do. We try to fix everything at once.

We start a new routine, buy a new notebook 📓, tell ourselves we’re going to be “more consistent,” and then life happens. Work happens. Family happens. Energy dips. Motivation disappears.

And suddenly we’re back in that familiar place:
“Why can’t I get it together?”

Except… what if the issue isn’t you?

What if the issue is that we’ve been taught to think of Growth 🪴as one big thing, when it’s actually four different things?

This week on Lifeticity, we're kicking off a 5-part 🪴 Growth Series using a framework I love because it’s practical and (surprisingly) accurate:

🪴 Some growth is seasonal
🪴 Some growth comes back stronger year after year
🪴 Some growth is immediately useful
🪴 And some growth depends entirely on what’s happening underneath the surface

Here are the four types of growth we’ll be exploring:

🌸 Annuals: the habits and routines that make life run better right now
🌷 Perennials: the deeper growth, like resilience, identity, self-trust
🌿 Herbs: practical skills that improve your life quickly
𓊍 The Soil: the foundation, the boundaries, environment, energy leaks

And when you look at it this way, something clicks:

Sometimes you don’t need a new habit.
You need better boundaries ❌.

Sometimes you don’t need motivation.
You need a skill 🧑‍🍳.

Sometimes you don’t need a planner 📓.
You need rest 😴 and a reset.

Sometimes you’re not stuck.
You’re trying to grow in depleted 'soil' 🍂.

That’s what this series is about: It's not about doing more. It's about creating the conditions where the right things can thrive. 🌱

If you’d like to read the first post in the 🪴 Growth Series, it’s here.

💡Try This First

Instead of Asking 'What Should I Do Next?'

Try asking . . .

What kind of Growth do I most need right now?

  • a habit?
  • a deeper shift in my days?
  • a skill that makes life easier?
  • a foundational change?

🩷 Create a life you love.

We're so excited for this Growth Series. Please let us know what you think. We love your comments!

🌷 P.S. Next week we start with Annuals. These are the small routines and habits that make your days feel better without requiring a personality transplant 🙃 or a commitment to forever.
